Intro
Make a fun-filled and charming pull string toy using cardboard, a few beads, pins, a tough string and acrylic paints. This toy makes a great gift for little ones or can make a great nostalgic gift for older kids as well! The fact that this toy is made out of cardboard makes it eco-friendly and budget friendly too!
Background Story About The Craft
I’d always wanted to make a pull string toy like this but never quite knew how. Then one day, I came across a photo online — and to my delight, it showed the backside of the toy clearly. That little detail was all I needed! I could finally see how the string was threaded through the arms and legs to make it move.
In my YouTube video below, I’ve shown this clever mechanism in detail — along with the full step-by-step process of making this Pull String Jumping Jack Mickey.
And honestly, this Mickey turned out so adorable that not just kids, but even adults would love to have him hanging on the wall — ready to bring a smile with every little tug of the string!
