Would you believe this architectural entryway mirrored window was made entirely using cardboard, paper napkin tubes? I used mirror reflective paper to create the mirror effect, along with some reflective trim, and just a touch of clay for the decorative embellishments.
What looks like heavy forged metal and glass is actually lightweight, completely recycled, and entirely handmade! I was brainstorming ideas for my creative channels when I came across a beautiful window design online and suddenly, a light bulb went off in my head. I’d seen plenty of traditional scrollwork designs before, and somehow, everything just clicked. As soon as I saw that window, the entire design started forming in my mind using the materials I already had. That’s the magic of designing: sometimes, inspiration strikes out of nowhere, and before you know it, you’re creating something unexpected with the simplest materials. It’s always amazing to see how an idea evolves and surprises you along the way.

Step By Step Overview With Time Stamps
- Making Side Panel Frames (0:25-4:06)
I. Make longer side strips and shorter top and bottom strips of cardboard.
II. Stick These strips to each other to form a rectangular frame.
III. Make dividers in the frame using narrow strips of cardboard. - Make arched center panel. (4:07-6:10)
I. Make a rame as above but larger than the side panels.
II. Make an arch using cardboard strips and glue it in the frame on top.
III. Glue dividers in the frame.
Now two sidepanel frames and one center panel is ready. - Next Cover all the rough edges using paper napkin strips.(6:11-7:25).
- Painted the frames with White acrylic paint as primer. Then painted ithem over with Black and then with metallic Bronze paint. (7:26-7:46).
5. Make Decorative Grill (7:48-10:31)
I. To make grill out of paper towel cardboard tubes, first cut them open and painted them with Gold and Bronze paints.
II. Once the paint dried cut out half inch strips out of painted tubes.
III. Next joint one end of a strip to end of another strip.
IV. Place a grill design under neath a side panel frame. Following the design lines shape the strips and stick them in place using glue gun. - Finishing Center Panel. (10:32-11:33).
I. Placed Center panel on backside of reflective mirror paper and traced around the center frame and cutout the shape.
II. Glued the center panel on the right side of reflective paper mirror.
III. Made a motif and decorative border out of air dry clay and silicon mold/stamp.
IV. Using School glue glued them on the frame of center panel.
V. Painted clay motif and borders with Bronze paint.
VI. Displayed the mirrored window on the wall.

This window can be placed in a room without a big window. Under it place a table and on that table you can place a vase with branch with leaves. This will give a vibe of real window. Or can be placed on a big wall in your home as a wall decor. You also can use this window as three different wall decors.
